Greetings,
I apologize if this is a topic covered somewhere else, I couldn't find any information.
I am interested in learning to tank, and several classes have the ability to specifically reduce magic damage. Is there a way of knowing when damage is magical vs. physical? Something in the animations that indicates it? Or do I have to research enemies ahead of time to learn which attacks are magical and which are not?
Looking at the adventure guide for example doesn't clearly state whether an attack does magical damage or not. It states that the attack does fire damage (for example), or shadow damage. Do those count as magic damage?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

- World of Warcraft Classic Best Shadow Priest Build Shadow Priest Stat Build The shadow spec Best Gear Stats for Shadow Priest Builds in WoW Classic patch 1.12 is little more focused on damage similar to a warlock mostly of the DOT shadow damage.
- Shadow Priests are mostly brought to raids to buff the damage of your shadow-damage dealing allies through Shadow Weaving, so you never need more than one Shadow Priest in your raid. Your raw damage was not as good as what a Warlock could do, even when we take away the inhibitions of threat and Mana, on top of taking up too many debuff slots in.

Physical damage reduction is still a thing because classes that deal physical damage also have auto-swings which can make up for having some of their damage being mitigated.
